Our Process
All of our Ecommerce projects are built on top of Shopify – the leading solution provider in the world. No matter what stage your business is at – Shopify has a solution for you, whether that’s something out of the box or one of the 1,000’s of apps and extensions which are available in the Shopify ecosystem. Our Shopify development process always follows these steps:
Discovery Phase
At the start of every project we’ll sit down with you, either in person or over a video call (whichever works best for you) and discuss your goals for the website, current pain points and what you would like to get out of the website at the end of the project.
Design Phase
Once we’re all on the same page with the goals and objectives for the project – we can get started with design. First off the overall structure of the site will be designed – the main navigation and how the site is split into different areas. Then we can start with the visual design of the site and make sure it aligns with your brand. Rather than designing full pages – we create flexible content blocks that can be used to build pages. This allows your content to flow into the site with ease, rather than being restricted by inflexible, static templates.
Development Phase
This is when we really get into our flow. We’ll take the designs and bring them to life, making sure they work perfectly across all device sizes, browsers and platforms. Each of the content rows which exist in the designs will be made fully editable and pages will be created to bring the website into the real world. While all of this is happening the website will be available to preview online so you can check in with how things are going at any time. As part of our process we’ll be constantly keeping an eye on the accessibility, speed and SEO of the website to make sure it’s the best possible build right the way through – rather than having to circle back around on improvements later down the line.
Testing Phase
Although testing happens throughout the build phase, this is the dedicated time when you will have the chance to review the website on your own devices and make sure you’re absolutely happy with how it looks, feels and works. Our reporting and tracking solution is simple for anyone to use, regardless of their technical ability – making this as painless and straightforward as possible.
Launch Phase
This isn’t a phase, so much as a process – one we’ve done 100’s of times before and have optimised to reduce downtime to the absolute minimum. It’s also a great chance to have a mini party to celebrate the arrival of the new site. Woo.
Support Phase
This all comes down to how much support you require – you might not need any ongoing support, or you might want someone to take care of updates, maintenance and content ongoing. Whatever your support needs, we’re happy to accommodate as much as possible.
