Garringtons Property Finders
Situation
Garringtons Property Finders lacked an efficient, standardized method for conducting and documenting property due diligence. Their existing processes were manual, time-consuming, and made it difficult to generate comprehensive, data-rich compliance reports for properties being sold.
Task
Our team was tasked with designing and developing a bespoke, digital compliance and due diligence reporting tool. This system needed to support complex, flexible question structures, integrate external property data, and generate professional, exportable PDF reports with all supporting documentation included.
Action
- Engineered a custom reporting application using Laravel that allowed administrators to build complex compliance questionnaires divided into flexible sections.
- Developed a dynamic input system where each question could be assigned to a specific answer type, including standard HTML inputs, file uploads, and external data integrations.
- Integrated with the PropertyData API to automatically pull and structure relevant data based on postcode or address, using this information to pre-populate sections of the report.
- Built a PDF export engine that compiled the full report, including all questionnaire responses and associated uploaded attachments, into a single, cohesive compliance document.
- Implemented the functionality for users to create and manage due diligence reports that clearly highlight potential areas of concern for a property before purchase.
Result
Delivered a mission-critical internal compliance tool that standardized and significantly accelerated the due diligence process for property acquisitions. The system not only saved substantial administrative time through data automation (via PropertyData integration) but also ensured a higher level of compliance and professional documentation by producing comprehensive, all-in-one PDF reports for clients and internal review.
