AJR: Merging Stories & Voices Into A Single Portal

The Starting Point

Jamie from Two Boys came to me with the brief of building the new AJR website, which would merge content from three separate websites and bring them together under one easy to navigate portal.

The Work

Jamie and his team built the website, while I set to work with building out a page builder tool within Wordpress to allow for complex page layouts to be constructed. We then needed to export the content from the historic Wix Website and build a bespoke import tool to allow 1000's of photos, testimonials, profiles, pdfs, maps, videos and sound clips to be imported into the new website with minimal manual interaction.

Altogether the project involved:

• Migrating 20Gb of testimonial content and 80 years of journals
• Importing 1000's of members and creating custom login function
• Multi faceted search function for different areas of the site
• PDF indexing for ease of search and result generation
• Integration of numerous paid Wordpress plugins
• Build of interactive maps to show Blue Plaque locations
